In honor of America’s 250th birthday, America 250 Ohio has set monthly themes to help celebrate the many accomplishments of Ohioans and everything Ohio has contributed to the country. May’s theme is Ohio Gathers: Statewide Homecoming & Picnics, and Miami County has many exciting picnics coming up this month!

 

Pleasant Hill Light Up The Nights

Saturday June 27 @ 4pm

Come enjoy a festive and fun night with Pleasant Hill Lights Up the Night celebration! Enjoy a variety of themed activities, a car show, kite making, music, games, recipes, fireworks, and of course the homecoming picnic. Kick off the night with a parade at 4pm, and enjoy your evening of  great community time together!

Piqua Fest

Saturday July 4 @ 2pm

Spend the 4th at Lock 9 Park in Piqua! Enjoy an evening of live music from local favorites like The Menus, fireworks, games, inflatables, food trucks, vendors, and more. Be sure to check out MainStreet Piqua’s booth at the intersection of Main & Water to help put together the community puzzle, DIY a kite, and get an Ohio History Activity Book.

Red, White & Baseball

Sunday July 5 @ 11am

Step back in time and celebrate America’s pastime during the Hometown Community Picnic featuring the Canal Jumpers on Sunday, July 5 at City Park in Tipp City. This free family-friendly event is part of the America 250 celebration weekend and brings the community together for an afternoon filled with vintage baseball, hometown pride, and classic summer picnic fun.

America2 50:Red, White, & Blue Ice Cream Social

Saturday July 11 @ 11am

Celebrate America 250 at Johnston Farm and Indian Agency with a Red, White & Blue Ice Cream Social at the Johnston Farm! Enjoy free ice cream while learning about the Johnston family’s Revolutionary inheritance and the ideals passed down to the next generation.
