The United States is celebrating its 250th birthday in 2026. Miami County is proud of its history and heritage and the people who have impacted its forward progress, and we are excited to celebrate America250! Throughout 2026, Miami County communities, organizations and businesses will be telling the stories of the events, people and places who have impacted Ohio and the country during the American Revolutionary War and beyond. Information on Miami County projects and events will be added to this page as they become available.
Take a journey through Miami County to museums, murals, sculptures and more on the Miami County History Pass. Be inspired and learn about the people, places and events that impacted Miami County, Ohio, and America’s history. Learn more about the pass and sign up here.
America250-Ohio’s Trails and Tales program celebrates and honors the history of people, places, and events within specific themes. The first trail that launched is the Ohio Air & Space Trail which explores Ohio’s rich aviation and aerospace history. Miami County’s WACO Air Museum and Aviation Learning Center is a stop on this trail. To explore this trail in more detail, click here. The Lake Erie to Ohio River Trail has five Miami County stops – Johnston Farm & Indian Agency, Indian Creek Distillery, Lock 9 in Piqua, Lock 12 in Troy, and Lock 15 in Tipp City.
