Situated right on the Great Miami Riverway and the Great Miami River Recreational Trail, Tipp City is a hub of outdoor recreation. River lovers will find smooth waters perfect for a casual canoe trip or a day out fishing with family. A short hike at Charleston Falls Nature Preserve brings you to the uppermost point of a magnificent 37’ waterfall. A few steps down takes you to the bottom of the ravine where you can look up at the full length of the falls and its limestone foundation. Explore the river with Adventures on The Great Miami. Historically speaking, Tipp City was originally named Tippecanoe in honor of William Henry Harrison, whose campaign slogan was “Tippecanoe & Tyler Too.” Developed in 1840, the town was purposely situated to take advantage of the traffic on the Miami-Erie Canal. You can find early evidence of this canal history along the recreational trail and in downtown Tipp City itself with the Tipp Roller Mill situated at Lock #15.

Just minutes from downtown Tipp City you can take a beautiful country drive to The Staley Mill and Indian Creek Distillery. This early American artisan farm distillery offers on-site whiskey sales, tastings & tours. It’s a lovely scenic area that’s worth the drive even if you aren’t a whiskey connoisseur.
