Here at the Miami County Visitors Bureau, we have been blogging about our area for years. And, more importantly, we continue to ask our residents and visitors to blog about their experiences throughout our historic towns as well. For example… did you know that we are part of the longest paved trail system in the country?

  • The DORA, Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area, gives you the opportunity to have a drink and browse some of your favorite shops in Tipp City, Troy, and Piqua. Come and enjoy a drink and time with friends in three of our beautiful downtown communities. Some general rules for DORA participants include, that you must be at least 21 years of age or older to participate and purchase alcohol. You cannot bring outside beverages or beverages bought at one establishment to another alcohol selling establishment. All beverages being consumed must be in a DORA-approved cup within the boundaries of the DORA. Downtown

  • The Miami County Courthouse, located in Troy, Ohio, has a rich history dating back to its construction in the early 1880s. Construction of the Miami County Courthouse began in 1885 and was completed in 1888. Joesph Yost of Columbus, Ohio was the architect who designed this building. Statues placed at the top of the Courthouse represent what was most important to Miami County in 1888. The statue of Lady Justice at the top of the Miami County Courthouse dome carries the sword of truth and scales of justice…always balanced.   • National Beer Day in the United States is celebrated every year on April 7th which commemorates the Cullen–Harrison Act’s passage. This act allowed for the sale of beer with a content of 3.2 % alcohol. Upon signing the legislation, President Franklin D.
