Mike Wade’s Historic Jazz Band: History of Jazz

The Hayner Center is hosting the opening party for the annual Juneteenth Celebrations in conjunction with IDEA Troy. The event will feature a very special musical program with musician Mike Wade. Wade is a Cincinnati based jazz trumpet player and band leader. Mike will be putting together a special “Historic Jazz Band” for Troy, bringing us the history of American jazz music. Joining him will be Cincinnati Jazz-Hall-of-Famers Melvin Broach on drums and Eugene Goss on vocals. Thursday, April 18th, 2 pm & Sunday, April 21st, 2 pm Cost is $20 per person Starry Dreams Catering is providing the refreshments for this year’s tea. A variety of teas from the Republic of Tea will also be served. This year’s Tea features a performance by pianist David Wion. David will be performing Broadway showtunes, movie themes, standards, sacred and classical selections. Reservations are required.

Eclipse Education Workshop With Stillwater Star Gazers Saturday, March 16, 2024 From 1 to 4 pm Stillwater Stargazers will host an Eclipse Education Workshop at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 1 to 4 pm. Mike and Judy Feinstein will share a presentation and demonstration about the science of the eclipse. In the East Room families can share a craft to learn about the physics of the eclipse. In the Solarium families can watch a video presentation to bring together all the beauty and wonder of this once-in-a-lifetime eclipse event coming to our area in 2024.

Friday Night Movies at the Hayner Center feature classic films with an informational introduction, café style seating, popcorn, and soda. All movies are free and open to the public. All films start at 7:00 pm. Parents are encouraged to check each film's rating.

Dianne Coble Ensemble with Soulful Sounds of Christmas

The Dianne Coble Ensemble will return for an all-new Holiday concert in the Hayner Ballroom. This large choir will share some happy holiday antics and Christmas fun on Sunday, December 10 at 3:00 pm. The choir will put their soulful Motown harmonies to such favorites as “Everyday People,” “Silver and Gold,” “Go Tell it on the Mountain,” “Emmanuel” and much more!
