Ohio Creates in Miami County

May 7, 2026

In honor of America’s 250th birthday, America 250 Ohio has set monthly themes to help celebrate the many accomplishments of Ohioans and everything Ohio has contributed to the country. May’s theme is Ohio Creates: Arts, Culture, & Literature, and Miami County has many opportunities to celebrate the arts.

Libraries

Miami County’s libraries offers a variety of reading materials, DVD’s, children activities and programs, adult programs, and other resources for all. Libraries include the Tipp City Public Library, JR Clark Public Library, Piqua Public Library, Milton-Union Public Library, and Troy-Miami County Public Library. There are also branch locations such as the Local History Library in Troy, Maker’s Lab, and the Oakes-Bietman Memorial Branch in Pleasant Hill.

Arts Councils

The Piqua Arts Council and Tipp City Area Arts Council are both dedicated to supporting the arts in their communities. Both organizations host a variety of arts related events throughout the year from concerts, auctions, street fairs, art workshops, and more!

Troy-Hayner Cultural Center

Experience the arts at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. In 1942, the mansion was willed to the Troy Board of Education to be used as a library, museum, or for other educational and cultural purposes. It served as the Public Library from 1943 to 1976, and in 1977 turned into the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. It has provided the community with  years of art classes, traveling exhibits, speakers, music, and other events. 2026 marks the 50th year of the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, the golden anniversary.
