Hometown Halloween in Troy

Downtown Troy’s Hometown Halloween is back and it’s bringing all the classic small-town Halloween vibes you love. Grab your kids, your friends, and your best costumes and head downtown for an afternoon of festive fun.
Enjoy downtown trick or treat with participating businesses, and show off your creativity in the Hometown Halloween Costume Contest, proudly sponsored by the Troy Noon Optimist Club and the Miami County Commissioners. Whether your costume is spooky, clever, adorable, or delightfully thrown together, there’s a place for you to shine.

When: Saturday, Oct. 24, 9:30 am

Haunted Woods at Brukner Nature Center

Geared especially for preschool and elementary school-aged children, the Haunted Woods evening includes a guided walk, live wildlife, and costumed characters. Trail guides lead groups of 20 people along a luminary-lit trail that includes stations where children and their families can learn about wildlife. Walks leave in 10-minute intervals. Participants are reminded to bring flashlights and to dress for the weather. Advanced tickets are required.

When: Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24, 25, and 31 5:30pm

Ghost Tours Of Troy
Learn about the ‘other side’ of downtown Troy. Take a spooky stroll around downtown and hear the haunted stories behind some of the buildings, and get a dose of history along the way!

Corn Maze at Lost Creek Reserve

Corn mazes are a favorite activity of fall—and Halloween weekend marks the last weekend the free maze is offered at Miami County Park District’s Lost Creek Reserve near Troy. Walk through the paths in the cornfield at your own pace and see if you can navigate your way out of the maze.

When: 8am. to sunset daily

Scare On The Square Pub Crawl

Downtown Troy’s Scare on the Square Pub Crawl is your excuse to get dressed up, grab a drink, and haunt your favorite downtown spots. Pick up your stamp card and crawl your way through participating DORA locations, stopping in to purchase a drink of your choice. Collect your stamps as you go, then turn in your completed card at the Troy Main Street office for your chance at prizes and bragging rights. Costumes are highly encouraged.

RIP Run 5K

If you want to focus on fitness rather than candy, then the RIP 5K Run/Walk is a great choice. This annual event starts and ends on Forest Avenue in front of Fountain Park in Piqua and goes through Forest Hill Cemetery. The family-friendly walk/run includes an optional costume contest. An adult and child costume contest winner will be selected.

When: 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31
