On Friday,June 20,the Hayner Center will host the Juneteenth Opening party with a very special concert, hors d’oeuvres and a children’s art exhibit. The concert will feature the Deron Bell Band with the “History of Gospel Music.” Deron believes that gospel music played a very important role in the history of many genres of music. “All good things come from gospel music,” he says. “So many things came out or those gospel traditions. Juneteenth Celebration in Troy

Troy, Ohio celebrates its fifth Juneteenth celebration this year on Saturday, June 21 at McKaig Race Park beginning at 3:30 pm. A special opening event will be held the night before at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center on Friday, June 20. Doors open at 6:00 pm. One of the special features of the event on Saturday is a Juneteenth Walk through town to McKaig Race Park. If you would like to be part of the walk meet at First Place Christian Center at 16 W.
