Looking for some fun and festive events in Miami County? You’re in luck! There are plenty of great family-friendly events happening throughout our area this holiday season.

As we all know, the holiday season flies right by us, so don’t wait another minute to gather your crew and head out to these fun events.

From holiday home tours and Santa visits to holiday concerts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. So get out and celebrate the holidays with your friends and loved ones – Miami County style!

December Holiday Events in Miami County

K-Love Christmas Tour 2022

Thursday, December 1, 7 pm
Hobart Arena | 255 Adams Street, Troy, Ohio

Welcome in the Christmas season with some of the most beautiful voices! The Awakening Foundation is proud to announce the return of the K-LOVE Christmas Tour, featuring Natalie Grant, Danny Gokey, Brandon Heath, Tasha Layton, and Jon Reddick.

This spectacular event will be held at the Hobart Arena on December 1 at 7 p.m.

Tippecanoe Christmas in the Village

December 3, 12 – 5 pm
Downtown Tipp City | Tipp City, Ohio

Don’t miss out on a spectacular opportunity to tour some of the most beautifully decorated homes in Tipp City. The annual home tour has been a tradition since 1976.

Attendees can enjoy a walking tour along south 2nd street in Tipp City, decorated by homeowners and professional decorators in the Dayton area.

North Pole Express at the Bradford Railroad Museum

Saturday, December 3, 10:30 am – 2 pm
Bradford Railroad Museum | 200 N Miami Ave, Bradford, Ohio

Take the kids to experience a real-life Polar Express! Complete with their own golden ticket, each child will receive cookies, hot chocolate, a commemorative item, and a visit with Santa Claus during the event.

Tickets must be purchased in advance at www.bradfordrrmuseum.org. Please note that this is not an actual train ride, but an event the whole family will enjoy.

Holiday Open House at Troy Hayner

Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4, 1 – 5 pm
Troy-Hayner Cultural Center | 301 West Main Street, Troy, Ohio

You’re invited to the Troy Hayner Holiday Open House and Grand Opening of the Décor in Troy, Ohio. This event is free to the public.

Saturday will feature events for the children with cookies, a puppet show, and additional entertainment.

On Sunday, peruse the breathtaking decor during the Grand Opening of the Holiday Decor. More than 20 decorators will re-imagine the beautiful three-story Romanesque mansion as a holiday wonderland. Music and refreshments will be provided.

Christmas at Johnston Farm

After a three-year hiatus, Christmas at the Johnston Farm is back! This year’s theme is A Johnston Christmas. Come experience a Christmas like the ones the Johnston Family would have celebrated many years ago.

Reservations are required for the tours, with each tour concluding in the Winter Kitchen with refreshments and holiday music.

Christmas on the Green in Piqua

The perfect small-town holiday celebration! Christmas on the Green in Piqua is a “must-do” on your holiday calendar.

Join this family-oriented event for caroling, horse-drawn carriage rides, children’s activities, and live entertainment. Stop in and visit downtown’s many stores to choose the perfect gift for someone special. A highlight of the event will be a live performance by the Piqua High School show choir, “The Company.”

This family-oriented holiday celebration is the perfect way to greet the Christmas season!

Downtown Piqua Holiday Parade

Saturday, Dec. 3, 2 – 3 pm
Downtown Piqua, Ohio

As a part of an entire weekend of Holiday Experiences in Piqua, the Downtown Piqua Holiday Parade is a family experience you won’t want to miss.

Families, young and old, line the streets to watch the floats and marching bands go by. You might also see our local fire departments, youth groups, churches, civic clubs, and more familiar faces as our community members team up to keep this hometown tradition alive.

When the parade is over, pay a visit to Santa in the lobby of the Fort Piqua Plaza.

Covington Hometown Christmas

Friday, December 2, 5 – 9 pm; Saturday, December 3, 11 am – 2 pm
Village of Covington, Ohio

Visit charming downtown Covington, Ohio for a Covington Hometown Christmas! Attendees are invited to enjoy holiday shopping and other holiday activities in the quaint village of Covington.

As a part of the community celebration, the Village of Covington, Ohio will hold its first Home Decorating Contest in which judges will recognize one resident for their creativity of outdoor Christmas decorations and light displays.

Other events include a live nativity walk, a historical home tour, and a kid’s coloring contest.

Christmas Memories: Remembering the Season through Advertisements and Photographs

Friday, December 6, 6:30 – 8 pm; Wednesday, December 14, 3-5 pm
Piqua Public Library | 116 High Street, Piqua, Ohio

Join the Piqua community in the Louis Room of the Piqua Public Library. There will be two opportunities to see Steve Stanford reminisce about the amazing history of holiday ads.

Holiday Historic Tour hosted by the Piqua-Caldwell Historic District

Saturday, December 10, 5 – 8 pm
Piqua-Caldwell Historic District | Piqua, Ohio

Tour Piqua’s historic district as its residents line their sidewalks with luminaries. The self-guided walking tour includes five remarkable historic homes in downtown Piqua. Experience the beautiful architecture and fascinating history… and see it all aglow!

Tickets for this year’s tour are $25 per person and are available online at piquacaldwellhistoricdistrict.org. They are also available at Readmore’s Hallmark on Main Street in downtown Piqua. Interested tourists are encouraged to get their tickets early as this is a popular holiday event.

Home Free Christmas Tour 2022

Do you hear what I hear?! Come see the ever-talented Home Free Vocal Band Family Christmas Tour! Home Free will be taking the stage with Texas Hill and Abby Anderson to bring attendees treasured Christmas classics we all know and love.

A Very Electric Christmas at the Arbogast PAC – Dec 18

Sunday, December 18, 3 pm
Arbogast Performing Arts Center | 500 S. Dorset Rd. Troy, Ohio

Audiences of all ages will enjoy this visual, musical extravaganza! This light show tells the story of a young bird as he and his family embark on a journey south for the winter. Children will be enamored with the twists and turns of all of his adventures! It’s a tale of family, friendship, and hope set to music from Nat King Cole, Mariah Carey, and Tchaikovsky.

Lightwire Theater combines theater and technology to bring this festive holiday story to life through its internationally recognized signature brand of electroluminescent artistry.
