Celebrating 35 Years of Welcoming Visitors to Miami County
February 12, 2026
In 2026, the Miami County Visitors & Convention Bureau (MCVCB) is celebrating 35 years of sharing what makes Miami County such a great destination.
For three and a half decades, we’ve been cheering on our local visitor economy, helping to create a community where people can truly enjoy a great quality of life and where Miami County continues to thrive as a place to live, work, and play. We’re the storytellers behind the scenes, shining a spotlight on Miami County and our partners to inspire visitors to come explore, stay, and support our local businesses.
And the impact is real. According to a Tourism Economics study commissioned by the MCVCB, visitors spent $235.2 million in Miami County in 2023. That spending ripples through our community, supporting everything from shops and restaurants to lodging, recreation, and transportation. Tourism also generated $24.8 million in state and local taxes and supported an estimated 3,556 local jobs, helping businesses grow and easing the tax burden for our residents. Travel and tourism aren’t just a bonus here; they’re a vital part of Miami County’s economy. When visitors come to Miami County, everyone benefits.
Our marketing and initiatives celebrate what makes Miami County special: local businesses, unique attractions, memorable events, and our amazing outdoor spaces. We reach leisure travelers, group and sports visitors, business travelers, and even locals, sharing Miami County’s story across Ohio, nearby states, and sometimes nationwide.
So, let’s meet the people behind the organization!

Delaney, Deann & Leiann
Leiann Stewart, Executive Director
After being raised as a Nebraska Cornhusker, I ventured to Ohio where I received my bachelor’s degree at Xavier University. My first job after graduation was in Miami County. I worked at the Piqua Daily Call and Troy Daily News for 14 years where I gained my experience in sales, marketing, event planning and management. I began working at the Miami County Visitors Bureau in 2013 and took over as Executive Director in 2019.
I have been married to my husband, Eddie, for 27 years, and we have four children, Sean, Kaitlin, Ian, and Kelly. I love spending time with my family, being outdoors and traveling. I have visited 40 of our 50 states and 13 countries. My family and I enjoy hiking, exploring, fishing, cycling, and camping, and we love visiting National Parks and historic sites together. I also enjoy watching movies, reading and vintage toy collecting.
It wasn’t hard for me to fall in love with Miami County so many years ago…the communities, the people, the businesses are truly amazing, and I feel blessed to be able to tell Miami County’s story every single day.
Deann Bechtol, Communications Specialist
Hello, I’m Deann! I’m a Miami County native who made my way back home after graduating from Antioch College and working in the non-profit world. I’ve always loved this beautiful area, and it’s been a joy to build my career here. I’ve been with the MCVCB since the end of 2003, so that’s over two decades of being a champion of Miami County.
When I’m not working, I’m usually hanging out with Eric (my husband of 26 years) and our daughter, Rebecca. We’re big fans of road trips and amusement parks, but we also appreciate a cozy weekend indoors with movies or a puzzle on cold and rainy days.
I’m a bit of a coffee fanatic and am on a mission to find a new coffee shop every week. It’s not surprising to discover that some of the best coffee can be found right here in Miami County.
Delaney Fields, Marketing & Experience Specialist
Hi, I’m Delaney! A little bit about me, I was born and raised in Troy and my family has lived throughout Miami County for years. After graduating from Troy High School, I moved up north to attend Bowling Green State University and majored in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management. I came to the MCVCB right after graduation and have been here for 4 years now.
In my free time I can often be found spending time with family and friends, watching movies, swimming, trying new foods and restaurants, or traveling. So far, I have been to 40 of the 50 states, with a goal of seeing them all soon. I absolutely love Miami County for many reasons but mainly because of the great people and the beautiful towns. Small towns are some of my favorite places to explore and I think we have some of the best.
