  • WACO 100th Anniversary

     In 1923, WACO Aircraft moved to Troy from Medina, OH. This was the Golden Age of Aviation. After moving to Troy, WACO became the number one manufacturer of civil aircraft in the United States and remained in that spot until shortly before World War II.  During WWII WACO employed 3,000 people and was the largest employer in a five-county area. Often entire families worked for WACO. WACO was and continues to be very important to this area. Today, WACO offers adventure as one of the few places someone can fly in an open cock-pit biplane!   • This summer, downtown Troy will once again welcome a variety of artwork as part of Troy Main Street’s biennial Sculptures on the Square exhibition. This year’s exhibit features 25 sculptures from artists throughout the United States as well as local artwork that will be hung in local businesses. Sculptures on the Square will be running from June 16 – October 2, 2023. The exhibition will kick off on Friday, June 16th with the Sculptures on the Square Opening Celebration. The event will take place at The Rec in downtown Troy and additional activities centered around the theme “Wind and Water”

  • Climb and zipline with the Miami County Parks District at Lost Creek Reserve!  This 35 foot tall wooden tower was completed last fall. Features include two rock walls, a cargo net climb, and the 450ft zip line. The tower allows participants to safely enjoy a climbing experience and the adrenaline rush of riding on a zip line. The tower is only open for programs when tower can be staffed and activities can be led by trained Miami County Park District employees. You can find these programs on the parks website HERE.
