A Bike Challenge.. with DONUTS!

Tour De Donut & Buckeye Donut Dash 5k

The Tour De Donut can only be described as a unique bicycle event, where your ability to eat donuts is just as important as your ability to ride your bicycle fast! Not to mention that it is the largest single-day bicycle event in Ohio!

The event is a mass start timed ride where riders visit donut stops and eat donuts. For each donut the rider eats during the ride (and keeps down) they have 5 minutes deducted from their ride time.

Anyone can participate, whether you want to ride in the challenge, watch people at the start line, or just enjoy the atmosphere of this fun event.

While the event is technically a “race” few consider it a serious competition, remember this is all in fun! We doubt the next Tour de France champion will have Tour de Donut Champion listed on his palmares, so eat some donuts and ride as fast or slow as you wish. All roads are open to traffic, and all traffic rules must be followed.  Roads are marked with large custom donut markings (in several colors and some have sprinkles) so you do not get lost.

For the second year, the Tour De Donut welcomes Be The Match as their official charity partner. For runners and walkers interested in competing, Be The Match invites them to participate in the 5K Buckeye Donut Dash. The Buckeye Donut Dash gives those family members who are traveling with cyclists an opportunity to participate in a run/walk while their cyclist is out on the course. Be the Match helps more patients afford transplants, adds potential marrow donors to the Be the Match registry and makes more life-saving research possible.

Saturday’s Activities:

8:00am – 2:00pm – Local Kiwanis Club of Troy selling donuts, water and pop.
8:00am – 2:00pm – Meet Your River, Paddling Pool and Casting Children’s Area including the ORSANCO Aquarium and the UD River Stewards River Mobile
8:30am – The start of the 13th Tour de Donut and the Be the Match Buckeye Donut Dash
9:00am – 12:00pm – Troy Farmer’s Market, Cherry Street

On Stage:
8:00 – 10:00am – Rum River Blend
10:30 – 11:30am – Zoo Animals from the Columbus Zoo
12:00 – 2:00pm – Hey There Morgan
