Friday Night Movies at the Hayner Center feature classic films with an informational introduction, café style seating, popcorn, and soda. All movies are free and open to the public. The Overfield Tavern Museum will be hosting a Family Archaeology Day on Sunday, October 12th, from 1-4 p.m. The museum has hired the Columbus-based firm Ohio Valley Archaeology, Inc. to conduct intensive excavations at the museum site, both in the backyard and under the floorboards of the 1808 log tavern, in advance of upcoming restoration work necessitated by the fire of December 7, 2024. The public is invited to see the work in progress, talk to real archaeologists, and watch them uncover artifacts buried for more than 200 years. Come join one of our Haunted Neighborhood Walking Tours on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18! For ages 18 and older, timed small groups will depart and walk the District, with a knowledgeable tour guide telling where…all the tales are buried. So to speak. Each tour will last about 30 minutes.
