Your Miami County Bucket List

Bucket lists are a fun way to get out of your comfort zone and try things you might not have thought of before. Lucky for you, we’ve started one for you! Tick some of the items off your list here in Miami County.

Take a WACO biplane ride – Soar high above downtown Troy and Miami County in the 2004 WACO Classic, Sunny. This will be a ride you’ll never forget.

Float Troy – Where floating the river and tent camping collide. Sleep under the stars, on the Great Miami River in the world’s first-ever inflatable floating tent. This is truly an experience that is fitting for any outdoor adventurer’s bucket list.

Ride in a bicycle challenge – If cycling and/or donuts are on your bucket list, then you won’t want to miss the sweetest, largest one-day ride in Ohio, the Tour de Donut. Enjoy a 10, 16, 32, or 64-mile course throughout Miami County while enjoying sweet treats along the way. The 2020 Tour de Donut has been cancelled but save the date for the 2021 ride on Saturday, August 28th.

Run a half marathon – If you’d like to cross running a half marathon off your bucket list, come to Miami County for the Winans to Winans. Start at the Troy Winans location and run to the Piqua Winans Chocolate Factory. This race combines a beautiful scenic run along the Great Miami River and chocolates for a fantastic experience.

Canoe or kayak the Great Miami River – Check canoeing or kayaking the 99-mile Great Miami Riverway off your bucket list. Take in the beautiful scenery throughout the riverway and stop at each of the communities along the way to enjoy local shopping and dining, unique architecture, sculptures and murals, and many fun, local events.
