Visitors can expect everything from pottery\, woodworking\, and glasswork to permanent jewelry\, paintings\, and holiday gifts—all created by regional artists. \nParticipating studios include Coil & Clay\, Artistic Earth Pottery\, Unparallel\, and Hayner Distillery\, each opening their doors for guests to browse\, shop\, and meet the makers behind their favorite pieces. The Warehouse\, a long-established first-floor business\, will host the event’s additional vendor spaces for the first time. \nFood and drink will be provided by returning favorites Taters and Bunwiches and Lovewell Coffee Co.\, alongside face painting available for all ages—perfect for adding a bit of color and creativity to the day. \n“This time of year always brings out the best in our community\,” said Hannah Ellington\, event coordinator and owner of Coil & Clay. “We love opening our doors\, sharing what’s coming out of the kiln\, and connecting people with handmade pieces that bring warmth into their homes for the holidays.” \nThe event is organized by Unparallel and Coil & Clay\, with support from Hayner Distillery and building owner Greg Taylor. DESCRIPTION:Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification (MOSAIC) \nOn Monday\, November 17 at 7 PM\, as part of the WACO Aviation Lecture Series\, Jason Foley from the Cincinnati Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) will present on the Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification (MOSAIC) which was effective October 23. \nFoley is an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)\, Gold Seal Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI)\, has worked as an FAA Aviation Safety Inspector and currently is the FAA Safety Team Program Manager. He graduated from Ohio University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation. \nFoley’s presentation will explain MOSAIC which greatly increases the number of aircraft available for Sport Pilots to fly. According to EAA Sport Aviation\, about ¾ of general aviation aircraft will now be accessible to Sport Pilots. MOSAIC is the result of more than ten years of collaboration between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)\, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA)\, Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) and others. According to Nancy Royer\, WACO Executive Director\, “MOSAIC will help more people have the opportunity to experience the joy of flying and help revitalize general aviation by making it more affordable and accessible.” \nAll aviation lectures are free and open to the public and are scheduled to last one hour\, beginning at 7 PM\, with questions to follow. The lecture is held in the Willis Wing of the WACO Air Museum at 1865 South County Road 25A in Troy\, OH. Doors will open at 6:30 PM. Donations to the WACO Air Museum are gratefully accepted. SUMMARY:Aviation Lecture Series at WACO
DESCRIPTION:A pilgrimage to World War I & World War II battle fields \nOn Monday\, October 27 at 7 PM\, as part of the WACO Aviation Lecture Series\, Historian Bill Albers will share about the meaningful journey that he and Dr. Steve Polsley embarked upon in September 2024 to France\, Belgium and England. The purpose of their trip was to visit World War I & World War II battlefields to honor\, remember and reflect upon the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their country. Albers will tell the story of their pilgrimage with remarkable photos and commentary. \nAlbers was born in Amsterdam\, The Netherlands\, served in the Royal Dutch Air Force and came to Ohio in 1965 as an Intern in Engineering. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has held positions as an Engineering Manager\, Sales Manager\, VP Sales/Engineering and CEO. A WWII historian\, pilot\, aviation instructor\, teacher at Edison State College and guest lecturer for more than 20 years\, Bill is passionate about reminding future generations of the sacrifices made by those who have paid the ultimate price for freedom. During his career he traveled extensively in many countries. Bill has been a US citizen for 45 years and volunteers at the Champaign Aviation Museum in Urbana and the WACO Aviation Museum in Troy. \nAccording to Nancy Royer\, WACO Executive Director\, “We are thrilled to kick off this year’s lecture series with Bill Alber’s presentation on WWI & WWII battlefields. DESCRIPTION:The Tipp City Area Arts Council will be hosting its 2025 Plein Air on the first Saturday of October and YOU are invited to attend!\nOn Saturday\, October 4th\, TCAAC invites you to visit the quaint downtown area of Tipp City to watch plein air (painting in the open air) artists in action. Artists may also be viewed in other various locations around Tipp City including Charleston Falls\, Harmony Farm – Life\, Fulton Farms\, and along the river on the bikepath.\nActivities for the day include:\n• the Paint Ohio History: The Great Outdoors Plein Air will be held from 9 to 3 in the areas in and surrounding Tipp City\, Ohio. Artists may pre-register via our website at Plein Air (tippcityartscouncil.com) or in person at the Hotel Gallery (109 East Main Street\, Tipp City) gathering space on the day of the event. Check-in begins at 9 am. All canvasses must be stamped to be considered for awards prior to painting. Artists may also call 937.543.5115 for more information.\n• A FREE Children’s Plein Air will be held from 10 to 2 in front of Topsy Turvy Toys on Main Street. Children will receive a FREE watercolor set (while supplies last). ALL children participating will be entered in a drawing for prizes donated by Topsy Turvy Toys and Tipp City Area Arts Council.\n• Starting at 3 PM\, the public is invited to attend the Wet Paint Sale & Awards Reception will be held at the Hotel Gallery gathering space (109 East Main Street\, Tipp City). The public may purchase art created and mingle with the artists. Light refreshments will be served.
