DESCRIPTION:Troy\, Ohio celebrates its fifth Juneteenth celebration this year on Saturday\, June 21 at McKaig Race Park beginning at 3:30 pm.\nThe Juneteenth Opening concert will be at Richards Chapel at 831 McKaig Ave. on Friday\, June 20. A special reception will begin at 5:30 pm for an art exhibition by Troy City School students called\, “Before\, During\, After…Historical Influence of African and African American music on United States history.” It will be curated by the outstanding art instructors at the Troy City Schools. The concert will start at 6:30 pm. No reservations or tickets are necessary. This special concert is in collaboration with IDEA Troy\, Richards Chapel and The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. \nOne of the special features of the event on Saturday is a Juneteenth Walk through town to McKaig Race Park. If you would like to be part of the walk meet at First Place Christian Center at 16 W. Franklin Street at 2:45 pm on Saturday\, June 21. At 3:00 pm the walk will proceed to the McKaig Race Park. The Saturday celebrations begin at 3:30 and feature games\, food\, entertainment and featured speakers.

This single and pairs\, as well as dance competition\, is a non-qualifying competition held under the auspices of the U.S. Figure Skating organization. \nSince 1974 Troy Skating Club has hosted its annual Troy Summer Skating Competition. This competition is hosted at Hobart Arena. Troy Summer Competition brings in over 300 skaters from the Midwest and beyond each year. Troy Summer Skating Competition has events ranging from beginners to senior-level skaters\, has both IJS and Test Track events\, showcase as well as Basic Skills.\nStarting in 2018 after the loss of our dear friend and judge Kathy Slack\, who championed\, and put so much passion into this competition\, the Troy Summer Competition was renamed the “Kathy Slack Troy Summer Competition”. \n

Concerts take place in the stone courtyard behind the Hayner and feature current\, regional\, original music and includes a fresh-made lemonade reception afterward. DESCRIPTION:Noah Wotherspoon\nFriday\, August 1\, 2025 at 7:30 pm \nBack by popular demand\, The Noah Wotherspoon Band will perform for Troy\, Ohio on August 1\, 2025 at 7:30 pm. The Noah Wotherspoon Band will include Noah Wotherspoon\, guitar; Tom Rastikis\, bass; Brian Aylor\, drums; Da’Rosa Richardson\, keyboards; Danny Manning\, alto sax; Eric Wurzelbacher\, tenor sax and Charlie Ferrara on trumpet.\nNoah Wotherspoon is an exceptional guitarist who revealed talents by the age of 11. As a young teenager he had his own band called Noah and the Stratocats\, who won a spot on the prestigious Chicago Blues Fest stage when he was just 16. The Stratocats played the Chicago Blues Fest for the next eight years. In 2015 Noah received the Albert King award for Best Guitarist at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis\, Tennessee. Wotherspoon started as a kid from Dayton\, Ohio who had an affinity for the guitar\, but he soon found himself touring America and performing at the world’s Blues Festivals. He has toured Eastern Europe many times and was the headliner at the Reykjavik Blues Festival in Iceland and the Salva Jazz & Blues Festival in Salvatierry\, Mexico.Wotherspoon has followed and experimented with a variety of genres in his 20+ year career. It is blues rock that has ultimately captivated him.\n“Every note Wotherspoon plays demonstrates his command of the blues musical style. His guitar solos are dripping with unadulterated emotion\, capturing listeners\, and transporting them to the heart of the blues. Wotherspoon’s love for the genre is evident in every performance\, whether he is singing gritted\, fervent lyrics or creating beautiful guitar melodies\,” says Viberate Music.\nConcerts are free to the public thanks to a generous grant from the Troy Foundation and the citizens of Troy.
