Kathryn loves the outdoors and treasures the number of parks\, bogs\, wetlands\, lakes and shores we have in Ohio. “It’s humbling to think about really\, in terms of the possibilities for exploration. That being said\, as time goes on I’ve felt an inexplicable sense of urgency in accomplishing my goals with my art. Some call it a passion. Others call it craziness. Whatever naming convention you choose to use\, the time I spend on my photography is what brings a sense of purpose to my life.” \nAt 7:15pm\, we’ll settle into our seats for a presentation by BNC Wildlife Educator Katie Weddle. Katie will share with us the incredible opportunity she had over this past summer to travel to Ecuador. About 6% of all plant and wildlife species are found in Ecuador\, giving it the title of one of the most biodiverse hotspots in the world. From the breath-taking Andes mountains to the serene cloud forests to the deep Amazon Rainforest\, magnificent flora and fauna were seen at every turn. Throughout the evening\, she will show photos of the amazing wildlife and the beautiful landscape as well as tell stories of the interesting experiences encountered while there! \nAdmission is free all\, so bring a friend!

DESCRIPTION:Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification (MOSAIC) \nOn Monday\, November 17 at 7 PM\, as part of the WACO Aviation Lecture Series\, Jason Foley from the Cincinnati Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) will present on the Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification (MOSAIC) which was effective October 23. \nFoley is an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)\, Gold Seal Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI)\, has worked as an FAA Aviation Safety Inspector and currently is the FAA Safety Team Program Manager. He graduated from Ohio University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation. \nFoley’s presentation will explain MOSAIC which greatly increases the number of aircraft available for Sport Pilots to fly. According to EAA Sport Aviation\, about ¾ of general aviation aircraft will now be accessible to Sport Pilots. MOSAIC is the result of more than ten years of collaboration between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)\, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA)\, Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) and others. According to Nancy Royer\, WACO Executive Director\, “MOSAIC will help more people have the opportunity to experience the joy of flying and help revitalize general aviation by making it more affordable and accessible.” \nAll aviation lectures are free and open to the public and are scheduled to last one hour\, beginning at 7 PM\, with questions to follow. The lecture is held in the Willis Wing of the WACO Air Museum at 1865 South County Road 25A in Troy\, OH. Doors will open at 6:30 PM. Donations to the WACO Air Museum are gratefully accepted.
