Tipp City Public Library will be showing the film League of their Own (1992) Outside in Collaboration with the Downtown Tipp City Partnership. \nLeague of Our Own: as America’s stock of athletic young men is depleted during World War II\, a professional all-female baseball league springs up in the Midwest\, funded by publicity-hungry candy maker Walter Harvey (Garry Marshall). Competitive sisters Dottie Hinson (Geena Davis) and Kit Keller (Lori Petty) spar with each other\, scout Ernie Capadino (Jon Lovitz) and grumpy has-been coach Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks) on their way to fame. Madonna and Rosie O’Donnell co-star as two of the sisters’ teammates.\nPopcorn and water will be available for patrons during the movie. \nOhio Connection: This film’s Actor (Tom Hanks) has strong ties to Cleveland and Wright State University.\nThis program is funded by a grant from the Miami County Visitors & Convention Bureau.

DESCRIPTION:Monday\, August 3rd\, 6:30 – 8pm\, Toy Story (1995) – Join the Tipp City Public Library as we celebrate America250 by participating in Ohio Goes to the Movies – a statewide celebration of movies showcasing Ohio’s actors\, directors\, writers\, composers\, locations\, and topics\, shown in cities and towns across the state. Tipp City Public Library will be showing the film Toy Story (1995) .\nToy Story is about Woody (Tom Hanks)\, a good-hearted cowboy doll who belongs to a young boy named Andy (John Morris)\, sees his position as Andy’s favorite toy jeopardized when his parents buy him a Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) action figure. Even worse\, the arrogant Buzz thinks he’s a real spaceman on a mission to return to his home planet. When Andy’s family moves to a new house\, Woody and Buzz must escape the clutches of maladjusted neighbor Sid Phillips (Erik von Detten) and reunite with their boy.\nPopcorn and water will be available for patrons during the movie.\nOhio Connection: This film’s Actor (Tom Hanks) has strong ties to Cleveland and Wright State University.\nThis program is funded by a grant from the Miami County Visitor and Convention Bureau.
