This single and pairs\, as well as dance competition\, is a non-qualifying competition held under the auspices of the U.S. Figure Skating organization. \nSince 1974 Troy Skating Club has hosted its annual Troy Summer Skating Competition. This competition is hosted at Hobart Arena. Troy Summer Competition brings in over 300 skaters from the Midwest and beyond each year. Troy Summer Skating Competition has events ranging from beginners to senior-level skaters\, has both IJS and Test Track events\, showcase as well as Basic Skills.\nStarting in 2018 after the loss of our dear friend and judge Kathy Slack\, who championed\, and put so much passion into this competition\, the Troy Summer Competition was renamed the “Kathy Slack Troy Summer Competition”. \n

The event is a mass start timed ride where riders visit donut stops and eat donuts. For each donut\, the rider eats during the ride (and keeps down) they have 5 minutes deducted from their ride time. There are prizes in several classes including the coveted golden Tour de Donut championship belt for the best adjusted “donut time”. We also award the most donuts eaten in several classes\, and for the speed freaks\, we also award the fastest bike only time. \nLearn More or Register for the event Here \nThis ride is intended to be fun and includes all cyclists pro to amateur\, triathletes\, tourists\, fitness riders\, and fun riders\, or you can dust off that two-wheeler you found along the road\, or in the back of the barn you are not going to want to miss this event. \nWhile the event is technically a “race” few consider it a serious competition\, remember this is all in fun! Bring the whole family and explore the wildlife exhibits\, take a hike through the woodlands and birdwatch in our 3rd story Tree-top Vista then relax with a cup of bird-friendly coffee and a piece of homemade pie! \nEmbrace the season of giving and support our mission by purchasing raffle tickets for a chance to win a treasure donated by the artisans. Drawings will take place several times throughout the day and you do not need to be present to win. All proceeds from this event benefit our wildlife programs. Free and open to the public!
