DESCRIPTION:WGI Sport of the Arts is the world’s premier organization producing indoor color guard\, percussion ensemble\, and winds competitions. It is called the Sport of the Arts because it brings music to life through performance in a competitive format.  \nCompetition\nWGI uses a competition-based approach for organizing events in order to showcase youth activities in pursuit of high standards of achievement. Events include over 60 Regionals and Power Regionals\, which lead to the three-day World Championships that evaluate more than 350 guards\, 250 percussion ensembles\, and 40 winds groups.

SUMMARY:Brukner Nature Center’s 5K Run Wild for Wildlife
DESCRIPTION:If you enjoy running or hiking on woodland trails\, you’ll love BNC’s 5K Run Wild for Wildlife! This 5K run/walk starts and finishes at the parking lot and winds through the woods along wildflower studded trails. Steep hills and rough terrain is involved but you can handle it!  Bring a friend\, but leave Fido at home\, pets are not allowed at BNC – they scare our wildlife! (Pre-registration event only) \nEntry fees include an eco-friendly bag of goodies\, plus the opportunity to add on a cool race T-shirt (design is in the works)!  All proceeds from this fundraiser support our wildlife program.  Did you know that we are home to over 50 Wildlife Ambassadors?  These native Ohio species are no longer able to survive in the wild and are the stars of every one of our programs and fundraisers!  Be sure to check them out after the event.

The fun begins at noon when you can sing and dance with the Banana Slug String Band as they perform their popular songs like “Dirt Made My Lunch” and “Water Cycle Boogie.” Also beginning at noon continue the fun with outdoor adventures for the whole family! Take the challenge of our High Adventure Rock Climbing Wall\, Zip Lines\, and Tree Climbing! Enjoy Caterpillar Train Rides\, an Animal Safari\, Rock and Fossil Digs\, Farm Animal Encounters\, Butterfly House Visits\, and Animal Games. Fairy and Gnome House Building\, Archery and Rocket Shoots. Embark on the Superhero Trail and meet some of your favorite movie superheroes and the animals that inspired their superpowers such as bats\, spiders\, turtles\, fish! Can you guess who our superhero special guests might be? Come and find out! \n*Banana Slug String Band performs at 12:15 and 3 p.m. \nBanana Slug String Band\nThe Banana Slug String Band is committed to educational entertainment for children and families through interactive music and performance.
