SUMMARY:Kathy Slack Troy Summer Skating Competition
DESCRIPTION:Come see these young athletes compete! This single and pairs\, as well as dance competition\, is a non-qualifying competition held under the auspices of the U.S. Figure Skating organization. \nSince 1974 Troy Skating Club has hosted its annual Troy Summer Skating Competition. This competition is hosted at Hobart Arena. Troy Summer Competition brings in over 300 skaters from the Midwest and beyond each year. Troy Summer Skating Competition has events ranging from beginners to senior-level skaters\, has both IJS and Test Track events\, showcase as well as Basic Skills.\nStarting in 2018 after the loss of our dear friend and judge Kathy Slack\, who championed\, and put so much passion into this competition\, the Troy Summer Competition was renamed the “Kathy Slack Troy Summer Competition”. \n

DESCRIPTION:Cincinnati Transit Authority\nFriday\, June 27\, 2025 at 7:30 pm\nThe CTA is an eight-piece band paying tribute to the great horn driven sound of Chicago Transit Authority. Originating in Cincinnati\, Ohio\, the band consists of some of the area’s best rock\, jazz\, and blues musicians. The group takes great pride in performing spot-on renditions of iconic Chicago tunes. The band’s replication and dedication to the music make CTA one of the top Chicago tribute bands performing now.Expect to hear all the great hits including “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?”\, “Make Me Smile”\, “Beginnings”\, “Hard Habit To Break”\, “Questions 67 & 68”\, “Saturday In The Park”\, “25 or 6 to 4”\, “We Can Stop The Hurtin’”\, “Introduction”\, “Wake up Sunshine”\, and many more.Rick Auhagen does the lead vocals\, Michael Oakley is on guitar\, Adam Wheeler is on drums\, bass guitar is Adam Scovanner\, keys are Larry Feldner\, Zach Grainger plays trombone\, Erich Lechliter the trumpet and Dwayne Irvin plays saxophone and flute.Concerts are free to the public thanks to a generous grant from the Troy Foundation and the citizens of Troy.
